Surface Areas
When calculating surface area you can assume the top and bottom of the shapes are left open unless the question states to include them.

Imagine you are being asked to paint that surface. so the ceiling and the floor would not be included.

Volume
The Volume of an object is the amount of space that it occupies.
The S.I. Unit for volume is the cubic metre
The S.I. Symbol for volume is m³
When calculating Volume you should bring all measurements to the same SI unit.
—23cm = 0.23m
—23mm = 0.023m

Volume, Mass and Density
Mass refers to the weight of an object and is measured in Kilogram’s(kg)
Density is mass per unit volume and is measured in Kg/m³
If the volume and density of a material is known, the mass(weight) can be calculated:
—Mass = Density  x Volume

Work Sheets For Week 4

Practice completing these worksheets and then check your work against the answer sheet provided. Remember that you are trying to learn the method for solving each question so marks are awarded for attempt and correct method.

If you are getting lots of the questions wrong then please speak up at the next class or email me a sample of your work.

Remember to save file as your name and clearly label the worksheet and question number.

Good Luck!

Remember to calculate the question and then check your answer. If you got it right then move onto the next question.
